Jang Ja Yeon's Letters Reveal Forced Sex With 31 Guests

Jang Ja Yeon, known for her role in Boys Over Flowers, shocked the industry when she committed suicide in 2009 after being sexually abused.
SBS 8 O’clock News got hold of her letters recently and reported: "Jang Ja Yeon entertained a total of 31 people 100 times - being forced to give sexual favors."
In her letters, she said, "I had no way to get out of the situation. The men who came for me are the devils. Whenever I put on new clothes, I had to meet another devils. Not just in Kangnam, but I also hosted at Suwon Karaoke and various room salons. Even on my parents’ memorial day, I was forced to host. Since I made a list, avenge me to the death."
It is an unspoken secret that the glamorous entertainment industry is dirty. At best, celebrities are invited as eye candy at drinking parties. Some are forced into sex to become famous or avoid being sued as the 'slave' entertainment contract gave them no recourse except suicide.
Jang Ja Yeon’s death brings the scandal into the open. The police who were investigating knew of this fact but chose to overlook it. Jang Ja Yeon asked for ‘revenge’ in the document.
It is very sad to see such sex exploitation. Even Korean celebs are infuriated. MBLAQ’s Mir Mir tweeted, "Those 31 dirty scoundrels must have daughters too, right? It angers me to think that they’d be having dinner with their daughters as if everything is fine."
