Singapore Apache Helicopter Crash Land Near School

A Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Apache AH-64 Longbow attack helicopter had crash landed in an open field across the street from a primary school in Woodlands on Thursday.
The Defense Ministry says the pilots of an Apache AH-64 helicopter made an emergency landing after battling engine problems during a routine maintenance flight. The tail section was damaged during the landing.
The ministry says no civilian property was damaged and no military personnel were injured in the crash.
Well, the most advanced weaponry cannot account for human error. Mindef must investigate for any negligence, if the helicopter crashes into a school or HDB flat, the consequences will be unimaginable, like 911 in America leh.
Our military will become an international laughing stock for this self-inflicted disaster...

Vanness Wu splits from Singaporean girlfriend

Vanness Wu has admitted that he has split from his Singapore girlfriend Arissa Cheo but they are still friends.
The 32-year-old singer's relationship with 28-year-old Cheo became public after he was photographed with her on numerous occasions in April earlier this year.
Speculation has been rife about what caused their separation, with some believing that it was the incompatibility between Wu's relatively quiet lifestyle and Cheo's fun loving character that drove a wedge between them.
Wow, celebrity relationships really don't last leh. Early this year, Vaness Wu gallantly rebuked the media and said it is "you and me against the world" to show his commitment to Arissa Cheo.
Now break up already... where is the love? Or was their get-together just a publicity stunt?

SLA Deputy Director Koh Seah Wee In Multi-Million Dollar Fraud
Singapore Land Authority (SLA) deputy director, Koh Seah Wee and ex-manager Christopher Lim Chai Meng conspired to pocket money from bills for fake IT maintenance products and services which were not delivered between 2008 and earlier this year.
Koh Seah Wee is being detained after failing to make $1.1 million bail, and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 19. Authorities said they have confiscated about $7.6 million of the stolen cash and assets.
With almost $12 million at stake, this could be the biggest corruption scandal to hit our civil service which is highly admired for its efficiency and integrity.
While SLA has changed the way it buys products and services to prevent a repeat fraud, other departments must follow suit too, else our hard earned reputation of having corruption-free government officials and civil servants will be gone liao.

Katy Perry Does A Sesame Street Spoof
Katy Perry and Elmo sing about opposites in "Hot and Cold," a spoof of her hit song as part of Sesame Street's 41st season.
Well, Katy Perry has finally made it as a celebrity. Only the popular ones get on Sesame Street. hehe..
Though the music video is great, Katy Perry should have been more inappropriately dressed for Sesame Street. After all, this is a kids' program.

Celebrate Mid Autumn Festival 中秋節

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival, is one of the most important holidays in China. It’s held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar.
In China, family members and friends gather to admire admiring the full mid-autumn moon and eat mooncakes and pomelos. There are also cultural customs like lanterns, burning incense to deities including Chang'e, the Moon Goddess of Immortality.
In Singapore, the Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋節 may have lesser significance compared to China but we also eat mooncakes and buy colorful lanterns.
Nowadays, mooncakes got so many flavors - yam, pineapple, coffee, chocolate, durian, blueberry, jujube paste, abalone lar. I prefer the traditional tastes of red bean paste or lotus seed paste mooncake to go with Chinese tea.
Eating mooncakes is an important part of celebrating Mid Autumn Festival. What kind of mooncakes do you like?

Mediacorp artiste Felicia Chin, the female champion in Channel 8's Star Search 2003 competition, answered some fashion and style questions in an interview recently.
Describe your style.
It is just an expression of myself; there and then.Which brands do you fancy to buy?
I really like the clothes and personality from Dsquared; it's all about being fun, loud, and vibrant. Shouldn't life be like that?
Where do you normally shop your clothes from?
Anywhere, I like clothes from the men's department.
How often do you buy new clothes to refresh your wardrobe?
I don't think too much into it; when I see something I like or a style I want to try, I'll probably do something about it such as buy some clothes and get some accessories, just have fun.
Any fashion tip you would like to give to our readers?
Try green eye-shadow; it looks good.
I like some of her style tips but I don't know why she like clothes from the men's department. She has a good figure mah, so why wear men's clothes and appear tomboyish?

Ris Low New Talent: Pole Dancing

Singapore's famous celeb Ris Low has created news as a beauty queen, radio guest, or TV personality, model and she now has a new endeavor: pole dancing.
Can Ris Low pole dance?
Yes, but apparently not good enough to impress the producers of Channel 5's talent reality show One Moment of Glory (OMG!).
That is a waste... as it is better for her to entertain audience in a well choreographed and sexy pole dance than opening her mouth to create more controversies.
By the way, she dropped a hint about going topless in a movie. Will you guys watch such a movie?

Chow Yun Fat To Give Away 99% of Wealth After Death

Hongkong celebrity Chow Yun Fat has joined the list of illustrious philanthropists which include Warren Buffett and Bill Gates.
Speaking to reporters in a press interview, Chow shocked many with a surprising revelation - to donate 99% of his wealth after death as a way of giving back to society.
"I don't want to bring anything along (when I die)," he gamely declared.
"The money isn't mine but was simply earned by me. That doesn't mean I want to own it forever! "
Xin MSN
I am so in awe of Chow Yun Fat. Since he was a starlet with TVB, I had been his star-struck fan, viewing all his dramas and movies. He is one of the best Hongkong actors but his later Hollywood productions not so good liao.
Anyway, back to his desire to give virtually everything back to society. We really need more rich people to follow his example. Nobody can bring their wealth away, so why not do more for others?

Megan Fox and Cristiano Ronaldo In Armani Underwear Ad

What a handsome and beautiful couple! Megan Fox and Cristiano Ronaldo really steam up the screen with their new Armani ads.
In Megan Fox’s video, she opens her hotel room door in a skimpy, lacy lingerie while wearing a tied-open hotel robe. It leaves much to the imagination as the dazzled bellboy entered her room...
Ronaldo’s ad is equally hot. His body is very well-toned and the hotel maid's eyes are virtually glued to him.
Enough said! Add some spice to your weekend by checking out the videos yourself...

70% of Net Users are Victims of Cybercrime
Have you been a victim of cybercrime? The statistics is ovewhelming, according to a study by security firm, Norton Symantec.
70% of internet users in Singapore have encountered cyber-crimes including computer viruses, online credit card fraud and identity theft. And, 71% do not expect cyber-criminals to be brought to justice. Worse, many feel they have only themselves to blame.
Well, I also got cheated before when I sold a used handbag aboard and never receive payment. The buyer seem genuinely interested, converse very well, ask relevant questions and gained my trust. But she disappeared after the good was delivered.
It was a bad experience but I learned to be more careful about internet pitfalls. I consider the lost handbag as a tuition fee lor. There are instances where more money could be lost in dubious financial schemes, Nigeria scams, lottery scams, phishing sites, etc.
For $10-$200, a lot of people prefer to write off losses because it is not easy to pursue the criminal online. The report says that "it takes an average 24 days and an average cost of S$1,660 to come to a resolution."
Definitely not worth the trouble leh but that is also what made cyber-criminals so prevalent.
What is your experience of cybercrime? If you have avoided it so far, give yourself a pat on the back.

Vivian Hsu (徐若瑄) Claims Her Career Was Frozen

Taiwan singer-actress Vivian Hsu (徐若瑄) recently revealed in a blog post that her career had been frozen for past three years.
"Because I am 'Iron V (Vivian)', keeping me in deep freeze is useless. I can fly elsewhere to sing.
"I just ... wanted to answer all my fans who have asked why I have not released a Mandarin album, to give them an honest answer. I am not afraid of evil forces as I am Iron V and believe in justice."
Well, three years is a long time for a singer to be sitting out. No wonder, Vivian Hsu isn't too happy with Warner Music for neglecting her career.

With so many music competitions in Taiwan and newbies being uncovered and groomed every month, it is hard to make a comeback.
But the wait does make Vivian Hsu's fans more eager to hear what she has to offer, when she releases her next album.
