Gong Li Divorced Singaporean Hubby Ooi Hoe Seong?

Gong Li, one of the most beautiful actress in Asia, has divorced Singaporean businessman Ooi Hoe Seong.
The celebrity told Zaobao that she stays in a hotel whenever she visits Singapore. Her manager Christopher Tseng was quoted in a magazine that Gong Li and her husband have separated 'years ago' and 'divorced only recently'.
Ooi Hoe Seong was also quoted by various Chinese websites as saying that 'whatever the rumour, that is it.'
It was almost a fairy tale back in 1996 when the media reported that Gong Li (a highly acclaimed Chinese actress) had married Singaporean Ooi Hoe Soeng. Hence, I feel it is a pity this 14 year marriage has dissolved.
Gong Li has been a Singapore citizen since 2008 but I doubt she feels much attachment here by staying in hotels.
While her marriage is a failure, career wise, Gong Li is going places. She is one of the few Chinese stars to have successfully penetrated Hollywood in English-speaking roles.
The 44-year-old actress starred previously in "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Miami Vice" and has been praised by co-star John Cusack for her intricate acting skills in "Shanghai."
Speaking of John Cusack, there are rumors that he and Gong Li are an item. Well, they are definitely close friends to be feeding each other and spotted outside a hotel at midnight.
By the way, check out the trailer of Shanghai below.

Creative Ways To Destroy iPhone 4
Apple just reported a phenomenal sales figure, more than 1.7 million iPhone 4s sold in the first three days, which marked its its most successful launch ever.
iPhone 4 are not available in Singapore yet but I am sure it will be a big frenzy when the day arrives.
I can understand Apple fans going gaga over the iPhone 4 because it is slimmer and got new features like video calling, sharper screen resolution and ability to shoot high-definition video.
But I am shocked that there are people going all out to destroy the iPhone 4. Check out the videos below:
1. Micrwave an iPhone 4
2. Shooting an iPhone 4
3. BBQ iPhone 4 with Solar Ray
4. Put iPhone 4 in a Blender
Very creative experiments leh, but I think these guys a bit siao. Why queue for hours and spend money ($199 in the United States for the 16 gigabyte model and $299 for the 32GB model), only to subject your iPhone 4 to such inhumane treatment?
Will you destroy your iPhone 4 after buying it?

Quan Yi Feng Abuse Taxi Driver?

A taxi driver, known as Mr Tan, claimed that Singapore television host Quan Yi 权怡凤had verbally abused and hit him.
Mr Tan claimed that he picked up a male passenger who told him to head to a condominium, where Quan Yi Feng and her 11-year-old daughter Eleanor were waiting, before going to the airport.
Tan said that the tussle started after he failed to help Quan move her luggage onto his vehicle as he had an elbow injury.
Quan Yi Feng reportedly flew into a rage over his poor service. When Tan asked for directions, she allegedly snapped, “Are you from Malaysia? Don’t you know the way to the airport?”
Tensions reached a boiling point when Tan braked hard at a junction causing Quan Yi Feng and her daughter to be thrown forward. Quan accused Tan of doing it on purpose and swore at him in Hokkien. She then insulted his mother and hit him and thrashed his taxi.
It is hard to judge who is right... the taxi is in a mess and Quan Yi Feng and her daughter suffered bruises.
Quan Yi Feng's fiery temper is legendary and this is not the first time she got into a confrontation with the public.
In 1996, Quan Yi Feng fought with a bowling alley attendant and was subsequently fined $1,000. She also created headlines for allegedly slapping ex-husband, Peter Yu Hong Rong 宏荣 thrice after he tried to pacify her in a traffic dispute with another driver.
Quan Yi Feng is definitely a garang lady, which is good in the sense that ladies should not be bullied and accept unfair treatment meekly.
But being one of the top TV hosts in Singapore, I think her behavior (scolding vulgar language, kicking a taxi and the driver, etc) is not setting the right example for her audience...

Winners at Golden Melody Awards 2010: A-Mei and David Tao

The Golden Melody Awards 2010 (第21届台湾金曲奖) ended yesterday with David Tao 陶喆 and A-mei (张惠妹) being crowned Best Male Singer and Best Female Singer respectively.
While David Tao was absent from the music awards, the presence of superstar A-mei was enough to make the music awards a memorable night.
A-mei was the biggest winner as she swept six awards, thanks to the success of her latest album 《阿密特》.
Unfortunately, Singapore's singers including JJ Lin 林俊杰, Tanya Chua 蔡健雅 and music producers 李偲菘、李伟菘 came home empty handed.
JJ Lin was thought to be a strong contender for the Best Male Singer in a two horse race with Eason Chan but was suprisingly trounced by David Tao.
You can check out A-mei extremely popular Hokkien song 《好胆你就来》below.

Tay Ping Hui Weds Edna Lim Mei Ling

Last week, Mediacorp artiste Tay Ping Hui, 40, wedded his long time girlfriend Edna Lim, 39.
Edna Lim is an NUS lecturer at the Department of English Language and Literature where she has been teaching since 1996 while completing both her Master of Arts in English Studies and PhD in Film Studies at NUS.
She is also the Undergraduate Co-Ordinator for the Department's Theatre Studies Programme, a position she's assumed since 2003.
During Star Awards this year, after receiving the award for Top 10 Most Popular male Artiste, Tay Ping Hui announced he was ready to settle down and even thanked his "future wife and unborn baby".
On his future plans, Tay Ping Hui revealed that he wants to buy a home on Sentosa. And he wants "enough children to form a basketball team," but not before he and Edna Lim enjoy life as a married couple for "one or two years".
The couple plans to honeymoon in Europe at the end of the year, after Tay completes work on his upcoming Mandarin drama "The Family Court".

JJ Lin 林俊杰 Dating Taiwan Busty Babe Lilian 陈立冷?

Singapore singer-songwriter JJ Lin 林俊杰 was reported to be dating Taiwanese babe Lilian, who is his fellow church-mate.
With her voluptuous body and a love of sharing photos, Lilian became an internet sensation after posting several of her bikini clad pics online.
The pair reportedly flirted openly on Facebook and Lilian had even posted their intimate pictures on her blog, which she later took down after protests from JJ's fans.
Rumours of the romance intensified when Lilian was frequently seen entering and leaving JJ's residence.
I think the Taiwanese swimsuit model is just using JJ Lin to seek fame lar. Although JJ Lin is not young anymore and should be settling down soon, it is hard to imagine him marrying her.
But I guess news of JJ Lin hitting on a busty E-cup babe is better than the previous speculation that he and another of our homegrown singer, Ah Du, are gay.

Fiona Sit Hoi Kei (薛凱琪) Upset Over Ugly Paparazzi Photos

Fiona Sit Hoi Kei (薛凱琪), an up and coming Hongkong celeb, recently broke down over unsightly pictures of her taken secretly by the paparazzi.
Fiona Sit has gained popularity after an impressive performance in Break Up Club opposite her rumoured boyfriend Jaycee Chan earlier this month.
Well, if you are not famous, the paparazzi couldn't care less about you or your relationships. When you become popular, they will hound you for any pics or news.
But seriously, are you guys interested in a celebrity picking her nose or wearing shorts/singlets at home?
I think it becomes extreme if the celebrities feel insecure in their own homes and don't even dare to stand near the windows.

Foyce Le Xuan Very Garang To Beat A Guy Up?

Last month, partygoers saw Foyce Le Xuan and another woman (X-Tin Lim) confront a popular Cantopop singer, Jason Chung, at Dragonfly club in St James Power Station.
Jason Chung, who is the frontman of Cantopop band Typhoon, allegedly cheated on both of them. The abuse, where the girls screamed, slapped and kicked him in the groin, was eventually stopped by the club's female employees.
Foyce Le Xuan has become very much of a celebrity in Singapore after telling the media about her rejection of veteran film-maker Jack Neo's advances in 2004.
Based on her actions, I am not surprised she got mentioned in the Straits Times as being garang, joining a growing trend of abusive women.
Last year, the Subordinate Courts saw 326 applications of personal protection orders (PPOs) and domestic exclusive orders (DEOs) filed by husbands against their wives. This is a 16% per cent spike from 2008.
Psychiatrists say the increase is due to the rise of women's economic power. While women have become more vocal and want to assert their authority, I am not proud to see more domestic violence coming from women.
It is worng to abuse your spouse, men and women alike. What do you guys think?

Jay Chou and Jolin Tsai Reunion Due To A Cartier Ring?
Following the flurry of reports regarding the Jay Chou-Jolin Tsai collaboration, a Taiwanese magazine reported that it was a ring given to Jolin as a token of love that sparked the reunion.
Jay has been working on the big revival for over six months, but had kept it a closely guarded secret. He reportedly made a promise to "marry her in the future".
Source: Yahoo
Of all the girls that have been associated with Jay Chou, I think Jolin Tsai is most suitable for him.
The "Double J" (Jay and Jolin) four-year romance broke up when Jay Chou hooked up with TV personality Patty Hou. But they had remained good friends and in contact with each other.
Last week, Jolin Tsai shocked fans by appearing at Jay Chou's concert in Taipei. The duo looked longingly into each other's eyes and danced intimately, fuelling speculation of a reunion.
I think the Double J reunion is a much better story than scandals of Jay Chou taking Devin Wu's virginity or flirting with Honey Chen.

Orchard Flash Flood Cause Traffic Jams And Wreck Businesses
Flash floods caused by heavy downpour on Wednesday morning wrought havoc on many parts of central Singapore, flooding basement carparks and shops, and making
roads impassable to cars.
The worst-hit area was the Orchard Road and Scotts Road intersection, with large stretches from Paterson Road - where Ion Orchard and Wheelock Towers are - to Ngee Ann City submerged in nearly half a metre of flood waters.
The basement of Liat Towers was flooded, affecting shops like Starbucks and Hermes, which reported goods destroyed by floodwaters.
Source: Straits Times
It is very embarrassing to see all these flood pictures - our most expensive lands in Orchard Road and Bukit Timah turn out to be flood prone.
Besides the embarrassment, productivity is also lost in the traffic jams, disruption to businesses and damage to vehicles.

Many Singaporeans are worried if our drainage system is sufficient to cater for present and future usage.
The rapid increase in Singapore's population and construction activities have strained existing drainage so we need to know if PUB is staying on top of the situation.
Let's hope PUB can prevent such flash floods in Singapore after their investigation. Else, Singapore's efficiency or world class standard wil become a mockery.

Girl Will Pay Handsome Man To Watch World Cup 2010

Want to be a male escort for 2010 World Cup? Here is your chance...
This girl, named KK, is offering 1000 RMB (just over S$200) per day for a man to watch the World Cup together. She enjoys football matches but doesn’t understand the game.
Check out some of her requirements:
1. You have to be a guy, between 20-40, who understands football and know how to drink.
2. Your occupation, status, salary don’t matter at all.
3. While you two are together, you have to accompany her to see the football matches and only the matches that she likes.
4. If your preferences are in conflict with hers, then you must obey her wishes. If she says it’s right, then it’s right.
5. You must know how to cook many delicious dishes. After eating, it’s your responsibility to clean the dishes.
6. She likes straightforward guys. If you’re a Shanghai man, she doesn’t want you.
7. Mostly importantly, you must wash your feet at least two times a day.
I guess the girl is more interested in handsome players on the pitch than watching World Cup 2010. For 1000 RMB, the guy got to cook, wash dishes, obey her wishes and explain the rules of football to her.
If it is true love, maybe ok ler, but if doing for the sake of money, the male escort may find this “one month of happiness” unbearable..

Watch FIFA World Cup 2010 Live Online

A lot of people are fed up with the World Cup debacle where Singapore is among the last nations to sign the telecast deal with FIFA.
And when the telecast rights is finally secured through a joint bid by Starhub and Singtel, consumers have to pay exorbitant fees.
I don't care if it is $70 (early bird) or $94, it is just not worth it to watch 22 guys kicking a ball around the field for 64 matches.
My hubby is still going to enjoy FIFA World Cup 2010 online. Check out some of the live streaming sites below... can work and watch football at the same time on the computer leh.
Official Sites for Live Streaming FIFA World Cup 2010
1. ESPN3
2. CBS Sports
3. BBC Sport
4. iTV
5. Optus
The FIFA 2010 World Cup has started today. You can also print out the World Cup schedule for easy reference.

Luna Maya, Nazril Ariel and Cut Tari Sex Scandal Videos

Sex scandal videos involving some of Indonesia's top celebrities have rocked the nation.
The sex videos allegedly involve Nazril Ariel (lead vocalist of award winning band Peterpan), his girlfriend Luna Maya (actress, TV presenter and World Food Program Ambassador) and Cut Tari (TV presenter).
Netizens first spotted the clips on Facebook and while they had been removed, downloaded versions continue to circulate around the internet.
All three celebrities had denied featuring in the sex scandal videos but due to the striking resemblance, a Lux soap commerical starring Nazril Ariel and Luna Maya had been pulled off the airwaves.
This is not the first time celebrities are involved in sex videos. Hollywood has lots of them (Pamela Anderson, Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, etc). In Asia, we have Hong Kong Edison Chen and Phillipines Hayden Kho.
Sometimes such sex videos help to increase publicity, but mostly, they are traumatising moments for the victims. The Indonesian police are investigating the sex videos so let's hope the culprit is apprehended soon.

Elva Hsiao 萧亚轩 New Romance With Nick Chou 周湯豪

Taiwan’s pop star Elva Hsiao 萧亚轩 is reportedly in a new romance with Nick Chou 周湯豪, veteran singer Billy Chou's 21-year-old son.
Responding to queries last week during a promotional event for World Vision's 30 Hour Famine, Taiwan's pop diva Elva said Nick is a "good friend".
Up and coming star, Nick Chou, 21 was also asked the same question but he just responded that “the future is hard to predict.”
There is nothing to suggest Nick Chou and and Elva Hsiao are more than friends.. at least for now. I guess this is a gimmick to help Nick Chou gain publicity. He just released his first single "附心漢" and has a debut concert in July 10.
Nick Chou is an exciting new talent in the Taiwan entertainment scene. He nearly became a member of Super Junior at the age of 15 but his mother felt the 10 year contract was too long.
If Elva Hsiao and Nick Chou are really in an autumn-summer relationship, the paparazzi will already be busy snapping photos. It is better to just focus on Nick Chou's music instead.

Debrahlee Lorenzana Too Sexy For Citibank?

Debrahlee Lorenzana, a business banker at Citibank in New York claimed last week that she was unlawfully fired for "distracting" her male bosses with her dangerous curves.
The 33-year-old single mom has since sued the bank and an arbitration panel will decide the case.
Lorenzana revealed she was singled out as there were female colleagues with far more revealing clothes than hers. She said: "They said their body shapes were different from mine, and I drew too much attention."
I didn't know turtlenecks and high heels can be inappropriate office wear for well-endowed ladies. If what Debrahlee Lorenzana says is true, her dress code is impeccable.
It is unfair to fault Debrahlee Lorenzana if the guys gets distracted or let their imagination run wild.
Anyway, this case shows that a girl can be too sexy for her own good, hence plastic surgery and breast enhancement are not the only ways to get ahead in life.

Oliver Fricker Charged With Vandalising SMRT Train

Oliver Fricker, a Swiss national was charged in court yesterday for trespassing into Changi depot and spray painting graffiti on an SMRT train. He also damaged public property by cutting a wired fence belonging to the Land Transport Authority.
The police has identified another suspect, Lloyd Dane Alexander, but the Briton left Singapore before the police report was filed.
This highly publicized case brought back memories of American teenager, Michael Fay who was jailed and caned in 1994 for vandalising several cars. The caning sentence was reduced after a US appeal for clemency.
But to hand Oliver Fricker the same sentence seems a bit harsh considering that the graffiti with the words "McKoy Banos" was artistically done rather than just vengeful or disgusting vandalism.
A lot of passengers didn't even realize it was a graffiti. They must have thought it is some kind of promotion or new makeover for SMRT. I am more concerned about the breach of security though as terrorists could have placed a bomb in the train with dire consequences.
Check out the video below as the SMRT train plied its route in full view of commuters but nobody seems aware of the offence.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley To Star In Transformers 3

After weeks of speculation, the leading lady of Transformers 3 movie has finally been decided - Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
With Megan Fox out of the running (due to disputes with director Michael Bay whom she referred to as Adolf Hitler), it was down to supermodels like Bar Refaeli, Miranda Kerr, Brooklyn Decker and Bond Girl Gemma Arterton to contest for the role.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley could be the next A-list Hollywood celebrity but replacing Megan Fox means she has some pretty big shoes to fill.
Fortunately, acting skills was never an important ingredient in the runaway success of the previous two Transformers movies.
Just be sexy.. that is what Megan Fox did and Rosie Huntington Whiteley should have no problem emulating her predecessor.
