Check Your Name In Register of Electors Before 8 March 2010

Singaporeans should check their names in the Registers of Electors before next Monday (8 March 2010). It is the last day for spotting and rectifying errors in the Registers of Electors.

Go to Singapore Elections Department for the checking of your particulars. You can also register as an overseas voter or restore your name if you became a non-voter for failing to vote in the previous election.

As of Monday, the Elections Department has checked 13,000 names. It has received 12 claims and two objections. Ninety-three applied to be restored as voters. There were also 619 applications for registration as overseas electors.

All Singapore citizens who are at least 21 years of age have a right to vote. Your vote is important in expressing your views on the governance of our country and deciding Singapore's future.
