Pervert Sexual Behavior At Freshman Orientation

Wah, this kind of sexually suggestive behavior is allowed in our university. Times have changed so much, meh.
Although this happens at a Freshmen Orientation Camp, where I read before that seniors sometimes put newbies through hell as a form of initiation, this is still not acceptable and very degrading for the girl.
If I am the mother of this girl, I will definitely complain to the head of department. What do you guys think of this kind of freshman orientation event?

Wedding Bells For Lee Young-Ae 大长今

"Jewel in the Palace" star Lee Young-ae has married a South Korean businessman in the U.S., her lawyers said.
The 38-year-old South Korean actress wed a 54-year-old businessman who works at an information technology company.
Lee plans to keep her husband's identity secret and won't release photos from Monday's wedding, which was attended only by family members and close friends, Dongin said.
She will move to the U.S. but continue her acting career in South Korea, it said.
Lee became hugely popular across Asia for her starring role as a late 15th century royal doctor in the 2003 TV drama series "Dae Jang Geum," or "Jewel in the Palace." Her movie credits include "J.S.A: Joint Security Area," a thriller about the friendship between South and North Korean soldiers guarding their border, and the romance "One Fine Spring Day."
Her last film, director Park Chan-wook's "Lady Vengeance," was released four years ago. She played a wrongly convicted murderer who seeks revenge after her release from prison.
I am a big fan of Lee Young-Ae and I saw most of her TV serials and movies. The best one is 大长今.
I feel happy for her that she has found her Mr Right. At age 38 (though she still looks like a teenage girl to me), it is indeed time for her to settle down.

Will You Spend Money On Men in White?
THREE senior Straits Times journalists have written a book on the ruling People's Action Party, describing the conflicts and the power struggles of the PAP's early years.
The 692-page book also lifts the veil from some of the most dramatic events in the party's 55-year history, such as the first leftist plot to seize control in 1957 and how Mr Lee Kuan Yew's parliamentary secretary came to lead the challenge against the prime minister in 1961.
Many of them were giving their views for the first time. They had lost the struggle for control of the PAP, spent years in detention and exile, and their voices are largely absent from the Singapore story.
Said senior writer Sonny Yap, co-author of the book: 'Although many of them spent years in detention and suffered tremendous privations, they betrayed no bitterness and rancour while recounting their experiences.'
Mr Yap, 59, co-wrote the book with The Sunday Times features editor Richard Lim, 60, and senior writer Leong Weng Kam, 55.
Their final product - Men in White: The Untold Story of Singapore's Ruling Political Party - is published by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH).
To write it, the trio interviewed 300 party members, opponents and observers, 25 of whom have since died. Among those they spoke to were leftists banished from Singapore. The interviews with many of them were conducted where they now reside, in Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and China.
The authors also relied on 200 taped interviews with politicians deposited with the National Archives and 60 years of press reports in the local Chinese, Malay and English newspapers, as well as government and parliament records.
The book will be launched by SPH at The Arts House on Sept 8. Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew will be the guest of honour and some 150 past and present PAP and non-PAP politicans will be present.
The book, which has a print run of 30,000, will be available at leading bookstores after the launch at $39.90 a copy before GST.

Are Singaporeans Adequately Covered By Insurance?

The Straits Times published an article last week that a typical average Singaporean would require an insurance coverage of $494,851. However, most Singaporeans only have an average insurance coverage of only $165,628 with many falling short of this coverage amount!
That is a big shortfall and my goodness, we will need to pay a lot of premium to get a coverage of nearly half a million dollars.
The average of $165,628 may be enough ten years ago (some people have no insurance at all) but if you factor in hyper inflation, it is up to the financial planners to say how much they want. How much insurance coverage do you think you require?
To have adequate insurance coverage and buid a comfortable retirement nest seems to be at odds with each other. Do you have much spare cash left after paying the high premiums?
Saving money is not enough, we must invest our money into stocks and unit trusts etc! However, the rates of return and stock prices can fluctuate wildly. The safest way is to invest in blue-chip stocks for the long term.
Have you guys planned for your retirement and insurance?

Nobody by Wonder Girls
My kid loves this hit song, "Nobody" by the Wonder Girls and has been playing it frequently in the house.
This sensational Korean group won 3 awards for this song at the 2008 MNet KM Music Festival Awards. These are “Song of the Year”, “Best Music Video”, and “Best Female Group”.
The Wonder Girls consist of 5 cute teenage girls namely: Yubin, Sohee, Sun, Mimi and Yenny.
It is not hard to see why they are so popular. The girls are pretty, have nifty dance moves and the song is catchy. You can't go wrong with these ingredients.

Michelle Chia Reveals Shopaholic Tendencies

As far as her shopa-a-lot tendencies go, the recently married Michelle Chia admits to be a decisive, confident and rational shopper. "If you really need to consider [buying an item], then you don't really want it."
After her honeymoon, Michelle traveled to Taipei with fashion stylist Keith Png to shoot a Ch U's Fashion Asia. The actress feels that Singaporeans are not as adventurous when it comes to dress sense and do not have the habit of layering their clothes as much as the Taiwanese. Vests, t-shirts, jackets, you name it, they wear it, the Taiwanese ladies have a habit of layering their clothes like Korean and Japanese girls do, portraying a sweet and demure image.
