Jay Chou CNN's Entertainer Extraordinaire 2009

CNN recently featured 25 most influential people in Asia which includes celebs like Andy Lau and Noriko Sakai (the "fallen angel" after being convicted for taking drugs).

Jay Chou is the only Taiwan celeb in the list but boy, did he do Taiwan proud. CNN named Jay Chou as the "Entertainer Extraordinaire" for his achievements.

He topped Taiwan highest earning celebs by raking in more than TW$500 million. His movie career is hitting a high with the year end "Treasure Hunter" (starring Lin Chi-ling) and a Hollywood remake of "The Green Hornet" (starring Cameron Diaz) to be launched next year.

Singapore also got into the list, thanks to former Miss World Singapore Ris Low.

I can't say I am proud to know that Ris Low's poor English diction and criminal record for credit card fraud has caught the attention of CNN, but then, bad publicity is still better than no publicity.

At least, Singapore has an "influential" celeb for the year 2009...
