Flash Floods Hit Bukit Timah

NEA says the rainy season may last until January next year and has warned of flash floods in low-lying areas.
We got a taste of things to come when heavy downpours caused flash floods in Bukit Timah on Thursday, with waters reaching knee-high in some places.
After so many months of sweltering hot and humid weather, I really appreciate the rainy season and with it, cooler temperatures. But the incessant downpour is getting a bit extreme.
The traffic jams around the island created delay and also pose safety hazard to drivers and motorists.
Repairs of waterlogged cars have to be borne by the owners unless they bought comprehensive car insurance. Showowners and residents are also not spared from losses created by the floods.
The government has to act fast to improve drainage around the island, given that freaky weather is here to stay.
In fact, the weather changes so fast, I have taken to bringing along an umbrella and sweater whenever I step out of the house, even if the sun is shining brightly.
